Male Breast Reduction
Male breast reduction, sometimes called gynecomastia correction or gyno, at Plastic Surgery Tijuana, can help men suffering from enlarged breast tissue.
Gynecomastia can result from a variety of things including obesity, hormone imbalance, or certain medications. Removing excess fat and tissue from your breast gives you a flatter chest and helps you feel more confident and comfortable.
Dr. Rafael Camberos, a board-certified and internationally recognized plastic surgeon, is ready to make you feel more comfortable with your shirt off.
Male breast reduction is the only effective medical treatment for gynecomastia.
What is Gynecomastia?
Gynecomastia (enlargement of the breast tissue) is a common and medically benign condition, with at least 60% of grown men experiencing it to some degree. Male breast reduction is the only effective medical treatment for gynecomastia.
The goal of this surgery is to remove the excess fat and glandular tissue around the breast so that the chest is flatter and more traditionally masculine.
This can be accomplished a few different ways. The most common surgical technique involves making an anchor-shaped incision around the areola (the dark skin that surrounds your nipple), extends downward, and follows the natural curve of the crease under the breasts so that excess fat and glandular tissue can be removed.
Liposuction may be used to further flatten the chest and a second procedure is sometimes necessary to tighten any loose skin.
Gynecomastia is recommended for adults, although it is sometimes performed on adolescents.
